New York State Police say they were dispatched via Dutchess County 911 to Pinebrook Drive in the town of Hyde Park for a report of gunfire on Saturday, June 8 around 6:40 p.m.
Further investigation revealed that an armed subject, identified as Jeffrey Tompkins, 64, of Hyde Park, had fired three gunshots from a Smith and Wesson 9MM shield semi-automatic pistol into his apartment wall during a domestic dispute, according to police.
Police say Tompkins surrendered without further incident. He was charged with three counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and was scheduled to appear at Hyde Park Court on Tuesday, June 11.
